Cash Passport – Travel Expo Competition Terms & Conditions of Entry

    Entry

  1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry.
  2. The promoter is Travelex Limited ABN 36 004 179 953 of Level 12, 1 Margaret Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia, (02) 8585 7000 (the “Promoter”).
  3. There will be five separate prize draws as part of this promotion (each a “Draw”). There will be one Draw for each Travel Expo held in Sydney NSW (Start Date: Saturday 15 March 2008. End Date: Tuesday 17 June 2008), Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT (Start Date: Saturday 5 April 2008. End Date: Sunday 6 July 2008), Brisbane QLD and Gold Coast QLD.
  4. Entry to the relevant Draw is open to any Australian resident who is a visitor to the Australia Post stand at the relevant Travel Expo and who completes one of the official entry cards and deposits it in the official entry box at the Australia Post stand before the close of the relevant Travel Expo (“Eligible Entrant”).
  5. Employees of the Promoter, Australia Post, their related bodies corporate, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter this competition.
  6. Each Draw will be open at the start of the relevant Travel Expo and close at the end of the relevant Travelex Expo (the “Promotional Period”).
  7. All correct, valid and legible entries from Eligible Entrants placed in the entry box during the Promotional Period will be entered in the relevant prize Draw for that Travel Expo.
  8. Each Eligible Entrant may enter a Draw once.
  9. All entries submitted become the property of the Promoter. All details will be held in accordance with Travelex Privacy Policy which can be accessed in Australia by visiting www.travelex.com.au or calling 1800 637 642.
  10. Each Eligible Entrant agrees that the Promoter will collect and record their details and may use those details for the purpose of marketing the Promoter’s products and services to that entrant, unless otherwise advised by the entrant.
  11. Except where prohibited by law, the winner agrees that the Promoter may use the name, address and photograph of the winner for promotions, marketing and publicity, unless otherwise advised.
  12. If a winner of any prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or guardian.  back to top

    Draw
  13. The prize draws will take place at the following location:

    1. Sydney NSW Travelex Expo Draw:  
      Level 12, 1 Margaret St, Sydney, NSW, 2000;
      Date: 4pm 17th March 200
    2. Canberra ACT Travel Expo Draw: at
      Level 12, 1 Margaret St, Sydney, NSW, 2000;
      Date: 4pm 7th April 2008
    3. Melbourne VIC Travel Expo Draw: at Level 8, 565 Bourke Street, Melbourne, Victoria;
    4. Gold Coast QLD Travel Expo Draw
    5. Brisbane QLD Travel Expo Draw
  14. The draw for the relevant Travelex Expo will take place on the first business day following the close of that Travel Expo.  Entry cards will be drawn randomly out of the entry box.  For each draw in respect of a particular Travel Expo, the first entry card drawn out of the entry box with a legible name, and contact details will be the 1st prize winner.  The second entry card drawn out of the entry box with a legible name, and contact details will be the 2nd prize winner.  The third entry card drawn out of the entry box with a legible name, and contact details will be the 3rd prize winner.
  15. Winners of a relevant Draw will be notified within 7 business days of the relevant Draw by phone and mail via the details provided on the entry card.
  16. The name of the winner will be published in the Public Notices section of The Australian newspaper and by submitting their entry each entrant consent to the publishing of their name. NSW Publication date: 25th March 2008. ACT Publication date: 14th April 2008.

    Prizes
  17. The prizes will be as follows:

    1. 1st Prize - a Travelex Cash Passport ATM only Card with AU$303.75 credit
      loaded on it.
    2. 2nd Prize - a Travelex Cash Passport ATM only Card with AU$203.75 credit
      loaded on it.
    3. 3rd Prize - a Travelex Cash Passport Card ATM only with AUD$103.75 credit loaded on it.
  18. The total prize pool for each draw is valued at AUD$611.25.
  19. The total prize pool of all draws in aggregate is valued at AUD$3,056.25.
  20. The prize must be taken as stated. The prizes is not exchangeable or transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or other goods or services. If a winner is unable to use the prize as stated it will be forfeited and no compensation will be payable.
  21. A winner may be liable to declare their prize for tax purposes. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any tax payable on any prize.  If any tax is payable on a prize it is the sole responsibility of the winner.
  22. If a prize is not available for reasons beyond the control of the Promoter, a prize of similar theme and value will be provide at the Provider’s sole discretion.
  23. The Travelex Cash Passport Card is subject to the Cash Passport Terms and Conditions. By accepting a prize a winner agrees to be bound by the Cash Passport terms and conditions. Fees and charges apply to the use of the Travelex Cash Passport and these are set out in the Cash Passport Terms and Conditions. The complete Cash Passport cardholder terms and conditions including a full list of current fees and charges will be provided to the winner with their prize. Any applicable exchange rates, ATM fees or charges will be deducted from the total amount of funds on the card at the time the transaction is made. The card is valid for three years but inactivity fees apply after 12 months of non-usage of the card. The total amount of the Cash Passport can be withdrawn at once and will incur a fee depending on the country of activity
  24. The Promoter will advise the winner of the relevant Australia Post store where they can collect their prize. To claim their prize of a Cash Passport Card the winner must present 100 points of identification at the designated Australia Post outlet to activate the card.
  25. All prizes for a relevant Draw must be claimed by 5.00pm (AEDST) on the first business day which falls three months after the relevant Draw.
  26. If a prize remains unclaimed for 3 months after the after a relevant Draw a redraw will take place. The redraw will be conducted at the relevant premises set out above and the winner/s will be notified by phone and mail within 7 business days of the redraw. NSW Redraw Date: 4pm Wednesday 18 June 2008 on the Travelex premises Level 12, 1 Margaret Street, Sydney NSW 2000. ACT Redraw Date: 4pm Monday 7 July 2008 on the Travelex premises Level 12, 1 Margaret Street, Sydney NSW 2000.

    Other conditions
  27. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its associated agencies or companies are not liable for any:

    1. Error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries; or
    2. Loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury however caused including, but not limited to, by their or any of their negligence, suffered by the Entrant or any other person relating to the use or enjoyment of, or non-delivery or non-useability of, a prize.
  28. If for any reason, the Promoter is unable to run this competition as planned, including tampering, infection by computer virus, bugs, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter that corrupt or otherwise affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter may in its sole discretion disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process, and cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, subject however to any written directions given under applicable law.
  29. The decision of the Promoter is final.
  30. This competition is authorised in NSW and ACT under NSW Permit No. [LTPS/08/02331] and ACT Permit No. [TP 08/01085].
